Commitment to Accuracy
- Accuracy and Integrity: Janhit Samachar ensures all content is accurate, well-sourced, and based on evidence. We question assumptions, investigate claims thoroughly, and challenge conventional wisdom.
- Due Accuracy: Our commitment to accuracy is fundamental. We ensure accuracy is adequate and appropriate to the content, considering the subject and nature. Any constraints affecting accuracy are explicitly mentioned.
- Verification: All output must be well-sourced and corroborated. We avoid speculation and are transparent about unknowns. Independent verification is sought, especially for claims by public officials or those with agendas.
- No Plagiarism: Our journalists do not plagiarize or distort facts knowingly.
- Corrections: If proven wrong, we correct information promptly and transparently. Serious errors are acknowledged and rectified quickly.
- Public Feedback: We provide a “Suggest A Correction” section on every web story for the public to report inaccuracies.
- Editorial Process: Stories are fact-checked and reviewed by multiple editors based on complexity and sensitivity.
Correction Policies
- Reader’s Role: If a reader spots an error, they should contact the editor-in-chief directly by email at janhitsamachar100@gmail.com with the subject “Correction Needed”. Corrections must include details of the error and the correct information.
- Editor’s Role: The editor-in-chief will investigate and, if an error is found, correct it across all platforms:
- Print: Corrections will appear on page 2A in the next issue.
- Online: The article will be corrected with an editor’s note.
- Social Media: A post will note the correction and link to the corrected article.
- Communication: The editor-in-chief will inform the reader of the steps taken to correct the error.
